Sigh. Hopeful people bore me to tears.

— Zor, Sonic the Hedgehog: Worlds Unite Battles #1

Zor is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. He is a Zeti and a member of the Deadly Six.

Appearance[]

Zor is one of the most diminutive of the Deadly Six, being only slightly taller than Master Zik. This may be in part due to his poor posture, as he always stands with a heavy slouch. Zor's upper body is white, while his body from the waist down is black. He has short and skinny legs with two cyan claws, with a third smaller claw on each heel. Zor has a thin rat-like tail that is white in coloration. His arms are thin and gangly, while he has five-fingered hands with cyan nails. Unlike most of the other members of the Deadly Six, Zor wears black fingerless gloves on his hands.

Zor's head is oblong-shaped and the majority of it is covered in vibrant purple hair, with one bang covering the right side of his face. Zor has cyan eyes with yellow sclera, which are always angled to give the impression that he is depressed, and framed with black markings. He has large purple lips and square-shaped teeth, similar to Zomom, with dark grey freckles above his mouth. On the top of his head Zor has a pair of horns that curve backwards, with an alternating black and cyan coloration. Zor seems to always carry a blue rose with him.

While aiding Sigma, Zor began wearing black chest and shoulder armor with the "Σ" symbol on front.

History[]

Worlds Unite[]

Deadly Six Archie

Zor and the other brainwashed Zeti, from Sonic Universe #76.

Zor and the other members of the Deadly Six were enslaved through Dr. Eggman's use of the Cacophonic Conch, and were forced to build him a base on the Lost Hex. However, their servitude to Eggman was soon ended by Sigma, who soon became their new master. Sigma accomplished this after the Deadly Six forced Eggman and Dr. Wily to do his bidding, which included creating armor for Zor and his teammates that enhanced their powers. Unbeknownst to them, it also possessed the ability to enslave them to Sigma's will, and the six were rendered obedient servants of the evil Maverick. Zor was soon sent to the surface of Sonic's World alongside Zavok and Zeena, and together they engaged Sonic the Hedgehog in the Green Hill Zone.[1] Between having the Hedgehog outnumbered and their enhanced powers, they soon defeated him and brought him to the Loxt Hex to join the similarly captured Mega Man. The pair were soon turned into Roboticized Masters, Sonic Man and M'egga Man, and sent to attack Mega City on Earth in the year 20XX and Mobotropolis on Sonic's World.[2][3]

Zazz throws Zor

Zor and his teammates were later tasked with leading Sigma's army of Mechaniloids in battle against the crew of the Sky Patrol, which included a cured Sonic and Mega Man.[4] During the course of the battle, Zazz threw Zor into battle, much to the displeasure of Antoine D'Coolette. The heroes aboard the Sky Patrol soon had the Deadly Six on the ropes with no more robots at their command-until they used their powers to force the Robot Masters and Maverick Hunters to attack the Freedom Fighters.[5] However, they were eventually defeated by the Egg-Wily Uppity Robot Scrambler Cannon, which freed the robots and destroyed the armor controlling them. Wearied by their exertions, the Zeti soon passed out and were placed in the Sky Patrol brig.[6] The actions of Xander Payne, a terrorist from Mega Man's world, later changed history so that neither Eggman or Sigma had ever enslaved Zor and his allies.[7]

At some point in the not-to-distant future, where Dr. Eggman had enslaved the Deadly Six with his Cacophonic Conch again, Zor and the other members of the Deadly Six were rounded up by Zavok to capture Mobinis for Eggman.[8]

Personality[]

Of all the Deadly Six, Zor is the moodiest, constantly behaving with pessimism and displaying signs of severe depression.

Powers and abilities[]

As a Zeti, Zor has the natural ability to manipulate magnetic fields which he can use to control machines and manipulate metals, though the latter application is limited by how advanced the machine he is trying to control is.[1] Zor can also fire blue energy bolts out of his hands.[2]

Equipment[]

While in Sigma's service, Zor wore armor constructed by Dr. Eggman and Dr. Wily. This armor enhanced all his abilities to such levels that he could control even technology from the year 21XX, but it was also equipped with a device that let Sigma control his mind.[1] This armor was later destroyed by the Egg-Wily Uppity Robot Scrambler Cannon.
